"Great TV for price paid" 2010-02-07
By A. Gift For Your (Chicago, IL)
Got this TV at a bargain price ($740) through 6th Avenue Electronics (through Amazon). Just received the TV and have been watching movies and sports on it. The picture quality is great. This is the first LCD that I have purchased. I used to have a 52" Magnavox (DLP), but the color wheel crapped out on me (after 3 years). I figured going with a smaller TV (for our future bedroom) would be the way to go.

So far, the picture quality is great. I have used the Wii and Xbox 360 with the TV. The picture is alright for both gaming systems, but not excellent. The HDTV aspect (through DirecTV) has been fantastic. Sports look fantastic (specifically hockey) on the TV. Am excited to watch the Super Bowl on the new TV. No negatives so far.

No usability complaints - would like to turn off the backlit TOSHIBA signature on front of the device. I don't do free advertizing.

 "Wow Factor" 2010-02-05
By F. White
We bought the Toshiba 42ZV650U from Amazon sold through J&R Music for a low low price of $759 delivered. We ordered on Tuesday morning and was delivered on Friday the same week. I wasn't expecting a high quality TV at this price, but after un-boxing and setting up the Wow Factor set in. This TV simply has an amazing picture quality. The sound is perfect for our bedroom. My wife even said we should buy the 55" model for our living room. Can't do that because we have a beautiful Mitsubishi WS-65813 there now, which NO TV can beat the picture quality that we've had for more than 5 years now. However if it goes completely out and can not be repaired I'd would pull the trigger on the 55" model as a replacement. I hooked up a Apple Mac Mini as a bedroom media server to this TV via HDMI and it looks wonderful. (NOTE when hooking up a Mini to the TV via HDMI change the Screen Mode to NATIVE to fit the screen.) If you decide to purchase this TV do not hesitate because the quality that your looking for in a $2K TV is in the lower priced Toshiba ZV650U series. Enjoy!

 "Very happy" 2010-02-04
By Shu (Cupertino, CA)
We bought this TV on line and it's really the best TV for the price. At the beginning, I struggled to make the VGA display to work at 1280x1024 like we did on the older Toshiba HDTVs. After talking with Toshiba and trying out the HDMI output with 1080p output, though VGA works fine, we decided to upgrade our PC to HDMI and also get a HD PC monitor to work with this TV. It's really the best buy at this moment of beautiful life.

 "Disappointment." 2010-02-02
By Arturo K. Castaneda (Sugar Land, TX. USA)
We returned this product because the sound quality was bad and the picture was not as clear as our old 32" Sony Bravia. The Toshiba claims to be Full HD 1080p, the Sony is not Full HD, it is 720p, but has a much better definition than the Toshiba. Also, the black items look a dark grey. It is not what we expected. It had a good rating in Consumer Reports, but it was not one of the recommended sets.
